How do I Program my Genie GM3T-BX  Master Remote?

 

READ THIS!!!!  THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!!!

The Master Remote works for all Genie Garage Door Openers Made after 1988.  It works for the Older machines with 9 or 12 DIP Switch receivers, for the newer machines with Intellicode-1 receivers, and the newest machines with  Intellicode-2 receivers.

Intellicode 1 or Series II Programming Instructions

For all Genie Garage Door Openers made from 1995 to 2011

All these machines program with a Learn Code Button as shown below

12 or 9 DIP Switch Programming Instructions

All machines made before 1995.  All of these machines program with 9 or 12 DIP Switches as shown below

Intellicode 2 or Series III Programming Instructions

Machines made from 2001 - 2013 that look like the picture below and have a set of buttons like the ones pictured below.  These Series II Openers were discontinued in early 2013 and were replaced with identical units but with Series II electronics.  The instructions below are only for Series II Units.

How do I know if I have a Series II or Series III Opener?

  • If your wall console has black buttons, your unit is a Series III Opener.  Use the instructions listed below
  • If your wall console has a white buttons, you have a Series II opener Click here for instructions.
